The Trifecta Tape Series

PRESENTED BY KLUTCH ART & ROSE COLORED STUDIOS

While a solid mirror shows us a solitary reflection, a mirror ball breaks up those reflections into hundreds of dancing lights. Broken glass lighting the disco floor with thousands of unwritten dreams. We often find ourselves dancing with them in celebration of the human spirit, cascading all forms of ourselves, past, present– illuminating the future. Reminding us to love all the versions of ourselves that we’ve been.

To fashion a brilliant ball of light you must lovingly piece it back together from hundreds of shards of glass to rediscover our luster again. This radiant showcase of triumph and perseverance pays tribute to the glorious dawn waiting on our horizons for those who choose to rebuild and shine their light on the world.

Featured Tape Artist:
Steve “Klutch” Kluchin

Bringing the polychromatic vision to life!

Both Klutch and Rose Colored’s individual projects already focused on empowered artists fueled by artistic expression and body positivity in our works.

The intent of this art project is to showcase Klutch’s remarkable and creative taping designs, allowing him to make them unique to each model and canvas while I applied the rose colored signature colored lights to the party. I wanted to experiment with a brighter set of holographic colors, especially after Klutch expressed the tape color choice can drastically alter the end product based on how well it reflects the lighting around it. This inspired our approach to trying out brighter, iridescent color choices and having the Rose Colored lighting design supercharge the holographic tape in astonishing and beautifully unpredictable ways. Even with production setbacks, with rest and recovery, we rose from the ashes like a phoenix. It took almost a year of collaborative tenacity and professional perseverance to keep the artistic vision intact. We have 3 powerful queens dressed in a kaleidoscope of colors with remarkable tape designs that transform in stunning ways under the polychromatic lights.

The process takes time with a tape suit taking 2-3 hours on average to create. Our collaborative expression was further explored through our pre shoot phase of trimming and peeling the tape and getting to discover more about eachother in conversation, music, movies, comedy, and artistic exploration. After the tape design work is complete, Klutch mostly leaves it up to the photographer and model then to create magic, even though he himself is the catalyst with his tape art dressing the model in iridescent dreams. It’s a rewarding and collaborative process between all parties involved.

The Vision comes to Fruition!

The final vision came out more breathtaking than the test shots could have shown us! And the color dynamics were key! Much like the broken pieces of a mirror ball cascading hundreds of glimmering lights– each piece of carefully crafted and placed holographic tape produced a masterpiece unique to each canvas. Thanks to the remarkable collaboration, this shimmering colorscape came to life! Each model became a disco ball in human form. The reveal, once they were taped up with all the cascading lights shining bright, was a glistening masterpiece every time! The models LIT UP! And dazzled when they saw the final spectacular body tape suit in the mirror. Watching the illumination dawn on and transform them from the inside out– nothing beats that!

The Art of Production

This series includes 5 creatives, 3 models, 2 artists, a home photography studio, 3+ photoshoot evenings, 1 photo tape test, and over 60+ hours of editing and organization for all photo sessions. It’s been a true labor of love and massive creative undertaking. The end results are INSPIRING & EMPOWERING. It’s a visually stunning achievement that took a long time to coordinate all these efforts, time, and contributions. This really shows the talents, skills, and coordination of the creatives and the empowerment of the models involved.

Creating art today sends a very powerful message. In the wake of AI consuming the industry, we need authentic creation and artistry to keep flourishing. The world needs this kind of magic. The Rose Colored studio motto has always been:

Dare to share your gifts with the world.

The more I’ve photographed and collaborated with creatives in Austin, the more I’ve realized that our best artistic achievements are amplified by our collective contributions. So let your creativity shine bright, and capture those moments that light up the world!
